Fjords and the Preikestolen cliff in Norway
Another interesting place that is surely adventurous and thrilling is the massive cliff in Norway, the Preikestolen, and the overlooking magnificent ocean, the Fjord!
You might have seen pictures of people in the top of the Preikestolen while browsing the net, but you’re thrilled and confused. Yes, Preikestolen is popular with BASE jumpers but this is the riskiest adrenaline sports. To let you know the height of this cliff, it is 604 meters in near vertical drop over the ocean. The plateau on top is 25 square meters where you can see the breathtaking views of the Fjord Ocean.
You might be interested to visit the place and wonder how to get there isn’t it? How to get to Preikestolen? To know how, here are the following guidelines: most travelers start their tour in Stavanger, the closest major town to Preikestolen in the south-west of Norway. They will hike the hill (from parking lot below up on top in 3.8 kilometer) in between 1 hour to 3 hours, depends on the fitness level. The entire hike is very fascinating and if you reach the top of Preikestolen, it seems that you already get your rewards. But once you already reach the top, make sure that you carefully approach the edge of the plateau because below is more than 600 meters long drop.
If you’re planning to visit the place, make sure that you have sufficient experience in hiking and you must understand the potential risks of this adventure.
